FOCUS GROUP MODERATION AND INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS

We interview any number of people, from individual interviews to larger focus groups. We can employ a variety of in-person, or technology leveraged interview methods; with no topic being off limits.

  • Individual Interviews (IDIs): Individual interviews allow for a deep dive into the behaviors and attitudes of a single person. The specific nature of this methodology allows for flexibility in discussing more concepts and following natural leads.
  • Group Interviews: Group interviews are a fantastic tool for gathering a broad survey of opinions on a some important ideas. In this setting, participants are able to share and defend their opinions with one another, which can be particularly useful in understanding how decisions are made on an individual level.
  • Employee Interviews: It can be easy to overlook employee input in larger business strategy decisions, however oftentimes employees can be an invaluable resource in understanding how exactly your business, and your consumers tick. Understand how your employees are reacting to changes within your company, or feel about your company in general, to aid in your decision-making.
  • Bulletin Board: This tool allows for ongoing, digital engagement with individuals who are representative of your consumer population. This methodology is especially effective when eliciting responses that are sensitive in nature and may be difficult to share in person, respondents have physical limitations, or a good geographical spread on a tight budget is key.
  • Digital IDIs, Group Interviews, or Employee Interviews: When you want the closest thing to the in-person feel without the budget implications, this is often a great choice. You can easily get a better geographical spread, or reach out to those with limited mobility. This can be conducted simply by phone, or online, with or without web-cameras.

ETHNOGRAPHY

Observing and engaging consumers in an environment where they naturally interact with your (or your competitors) products and services. This methodology provides the opportunity for real-time feedback., and a solid articulation of behaviors. Ethnographic methodologies includes:

  • Shopalong: Talk to your consumers inside your store, or wherever your products are offered, catching gut reactions and keen insights. This methodology is similar to watching someone “shop out loud”.
  • In-Home Interview: Speaking with consumers within their own homes not only puts them at ease, but also allows for a "fly-on-the-wall" view of your product or service in action. This gives clients a real sense of their product in use.
  • Intercept Survey: Engaging consumers just after interacting with you or your competitor’s products creates an opportunity to gather initial reactions post decision-making.
  • Secret Shopping: Applicable to consumers and employees alike, secret shopping is a non-invasive way to observe behaviors which are paramount to successful business.
  • User Experience: What makes sense to your team may not translate to your consumers. Get a fresh perspective on the usability of your website or app, which will empower you to best engage your consumers.

  • Survey Pretest: Test survey for clarity and accuracy before your survey launches, which can give you peace of mind in kicking off data collection and save on costly mistakes.
  • Field Management: Whether domestic or international, your study will be in the hands of capable, experienced field managers to oversee your recruit and field, helping take the guesswork out of research, and freeing your time considerably.

TRANSCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS

Boiling down heaps of data into digestible findings and actionable recommendations is an area in which we excel.

  • “Just My Type” Transcription: Full transcriptions completed by real humans allowing for better accuracy and greater reports. All of our talented transcriptionists possess at minimum a bachelors degree which offers an additional level of analysis not typically found in standard transcription work. Clean and accurate transcripts allow for the endurance of raw qualitative data, and give an analytical boost in understanding scenarios.
  • Report Writing: Sharp, clean, appealing reports that will help you make sense of the research, and drive your business forward.
